Windlight Art Gallery Summer Art Show
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Dates: August 12, 2016 to August 20, 2016 Kultivate Magazine’s Windlight Art Gallery is pleased to announce it’s Summer Art Show! This show will feature 2D and 3D artists, a variety of Second Life merchants and creators, live performers, DJ’s, and a hunt! Participating 3D artists include: Alpha Auer, Betty Tureaud, Bryn Oh, Cica Ghost, Eleseren Brianna, Johannes1977 Resident, and Silas Merlin. Events will include live performers Phemie Alcott and Tallyesin; Bad Amp Tribute Bands will perform tribute shows for Metallica and Queen; DJ’s Mia Deluca, Paradox Messmer, and Johannes1977 Resident will be spinning the tunes throughout the event and Whymsee will have a special dance event with DJ Cordie! Guests will also have the chance to participate in a variety of raffles and the Summer Sandcastle Hunt, where they can hunt for 25 sandcastles to win 25 FREE prizes! The gallery has a fellowship program that provides free gallery space to artists for a period of 30 days. Sea's Roadhouse has brought FAMILY FRIENDLY back to the grid!
Sea's Roadhouse is back in business providing an all ages, mature atmosphere for fellow residents of Second Life to enjoy! We don't allow nudity or explicit content, as we wanted to give residents a place to come and relax, listen to music(even live performers!), play games, and more! Check out our wonderfully scenic 1/4 sim complete with cuddle and hangout areas, board games, bowling, darts, arcade games, billiards, and more!
DJ Sea started back in 2006, and has held many jobs, with DJ and live performance preference. He's owned several clubs over the years, and always hand-picked the best, drama-free, mature staff. Recently back from an extended vacation, Sea decided to bring his closest friends together to fire up Sea's Roadhouse once again.
We are owned by a group of people, so no single person makes all of the decisions. This eliminates undue stress and promotes more transparency within our staff; we do our very best to keep our staff and VIPs content with our unique atmosphere.
We have some unique builds that very few people have copies of, like our Roadhouse building(customized for our venue), realistic stage lighting, and ridable chopper bar. Visit our Roadhouse and see for yourself; there's nothing quite like Sea's Roadhouse on the grid!

Actual Man Actually Convicted by Actual Court for Virtual Land Scam
The long arm of the real law reached out for him last year and now finally issues a conviction in Indiana:
After pleading guilty to theft as a class D felony in a Marion County court, Joshua Bills was sentenced late last month to three years of probation after paying full restitution of $53,500 to the victim. “This was certainly a unique case in that it dealt with online, virtual real estate,” Indiana Securities Commissioner Alex Glass said in a statement. “However, upon examination of the facts, this case is very similar to a conventional real estate investment scheme. Con artists are always finding new and unique ways to scam trusting individuals out of their hard earned money.
I'm not a lawyer (but I play one in an off-off-Broadway production of Inherit the Wind), but seems like this conviction helps establish a legal precedent for future prosecution of other virtual scams. It's interesting that Commissioner Glass is citing real estate regulation in a situation which actually, only involves licensed, designated access to a server network actually owned by Linden Lab.

Slim Chance, a Brand New Curvaceous Shape for Second Life Avatars (NWN Partner News)
New World Notes sponsoring partner Ample Avi is wrapping up the summer season with a brand new shape for Second Life avatars. As ever, Ample Avi is a brand specializing in curvy, plus-sized and realistic shapes for vanilla/base avatars in SL -- and stereotypical Glamazon-style shapes are the exception more than the rule in their lineup.
The newest member of that lineup, Slim Chance, is what designer Xme Xue classifies as "Curvy Slim", a category that brings the likes of bombshells like Marilyn Monroe to mind. Ample Avi's Curvy Slim shapes typically have hourglass silhouettes while still fitting comfortably within the normal range of SL body types. In my experience this makes Curvy Slim shapes like Slim Chance pretty versatile and easiest to wear with most mesh fashions without requiring too much slider fiddling to get the best look. Of course even if you do want to play with your sliders a bit, Ample Avi shapes come mod/copy enabled, so you can tweak and experiment without sacrificing the original.
